Kick In The Chest-Akbar Birbal Short Story:Once upon a time, there was a great king named Akbar who ruled over a vast kingdom. One day, after finishing important conversations with the court elders and ministers, he raised a strange question in the court.
He said that the previous night, someone had climbed onto his bed and kicked him in the chest. He asked what punishment the culprit should receive.
Everyone in the court was shocked to hear this. They couldn’t believe that someone had managed to sneak into the king’s palace and harm him. The courtiers suggested that the culprit should be put to death.
The king, who was listening to everyone’s suggestions, was curious to know what Birbal, his clever and witty advisor, had to say. Birbal took his time to think before speaking.
Finally, he suggested that the culprit should be made to wear golden clasps and jewels filled with vitriol on their feet, and the king should kiss them. The king burst out laughing at this unusual suggestion.
The king then asked Birbal how he knew who had kicked him. Birbal replied that no one except the little prince could have entered the palace and climbed onto the king’s bed. Everyone in the court was surprised and felt ashamed for not realizing this earlier.
In the end, they all apologized to Birbal for being so preoccupied with finding the punishment that they had missed the true meaning of the king’s question. The king was pleased with Birbal’s cleverness and humor and rewarded him for his wisdom.
